Method
- Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm water, and olive oil. Stir until well mixed.
- Step 2: Gradually add the all-purpose flour, salt, and sugar. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Step 3: Knead the dough for about 5 minutes on a floured surface until it's smooth and elastic.
- Step 4: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rest for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Step 5: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 6: Roll the dough out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Step 7: Sprinkle the dough with mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, and basil.
- Step 8: Fold the dough in half lengthwise and cut into 1-inch wide strips.
- Step 9: Twist each strip and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Step 10: Brush the breadsticks with melted butter and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
