Ingredients

  • 6 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Green onions sliced (for garnish)

Method

  1. Step 1: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  2. Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken thighs with black pepper.
  3. Step 3: Add chicken to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Step 4: Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken, making sure to coat each piece evenly.
  5. Step 5: Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through.
  6. Step 6: In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir it into the skillet to thicken the sauce.
  7. Step 7: Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is glossy and coats the chicken.
  8. Step 8: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
