Shrimp Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts chopped
  • 8 large lettuce leaves butter or romaine
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and lime juice. Cook for another minute.
  5. Mix in green onions, carrots, and water chestnuts. Cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Spoon the shrimp mixture into lettuce leaves.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently before serving.
