Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup protein powder
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled turkey sausage
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin with olive oil.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, protein powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Step 3: In another bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, milk, eggs, and maple syrup. Mix until smooth.
  4. Step 4: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Step 5: Fold in the crumbled turkey sausage and shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Step 6: Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  7. Step 7: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Step 8: Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra maple flavor, brush the tops with additional maple syrup while warm.
