Ingredients

  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a bowl, mix together the feta cheese, cream cheese, dill, lemon zest, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Step 3: Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with olive oil. Place a second sheet on top and brush again.
  4. Step 4: Cut the layered phyllo sheets into four equal strips.
  5. Step 5: Spoon a tablespoon of the cheese mixture at the end of each strip, then roll up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
  6. Step 6: Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with more olive oil.
  7. Step 7: Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Step 8: While the rolls are baking, heat the honey, chili flakes, and lemon juice in a small saucepan over low heat until just warm and combined. Remove from heat.
  9. Step 9: Drizzle the warm spicy chili honey over the baked feta rolls just before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the phyllo sheets dry slightly before using. Adjust chili flakes based on your heat preference.
