Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- Pat tilapia fillets dry with paper towels and place them in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the marinade evenly over the fillets, ensuring each piece is coated. Let sit for 10–15 minutes while oven finishes preheating.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature 145°F).
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your favorite sides such as rice, roasted vegetables, or salad.
Notes
Don’t overcook: Tilapia cooks quickly. Remove from heat as soon as it flakes easily with a fork (internal temp 145°F).
Use fresh lemon: Fresh juice and zest provide the best flavor.
Garlic tip: Mince finely and avoid high heat to prevent burning.
Pat dry: Always pat fish dry before cooking for better texture.
Optional add-ins: Fresh parsley, dill, red pepper flakes, or grated Parmesan for extra flavor.
