Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped

Method

  1. Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the beef cubes in batches, transferring them to the crockpot once browned.
  2. Step 2: Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté until onions are translucent. Transfer to the crockpot.
  3. Step 3: Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the beef and onions in the crockpot.
  4. Step 4: Sprinkle in thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Step 5: Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until the beef is tender.
  6. Step 6: In a small bowl, whisk together flour and water until smooth. Add to the crockpot, stirring to thicken the gravy.
  7. Step 7: Cook for an additional 30 minutes on low.
  8. Step 8: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For a thicker gravy, use an extra tablespoon of flour. Serve over mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
