Bubba’s Crab Stew Recipe

A creamy, comforting crab stew with fresh lump crab, seafood stock, and Old Bay seasoning.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb lump crab meat
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 celery stalks diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley and thyme for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onions, celery, and garlic until soft.
  2. Add Old Bay seasoning and stir to coat the vegetables.
  3. Pour in white wine and simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Add seafood stock and bring to a gentle boil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in half-and-half and warm through.
  6. Gently fold in crab meat and cook until heated.
  7. Garnish with parsley and thyme. Serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half with whole milk or coconut milk.
