Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings tips removed and split into flats and drumettes
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce your favorite brand
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mix.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat.
  5. Bake the wings for 20 minutes, then flip them over and bake for another 10 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
  6. While the wings are baking, prepare the BBQ sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is well combined and slightly thickened.
  7. Once the wings are done, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the BBQ sauce over the wings and toss until they are well coated.
  8. Return the sauced wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to caramelize.
  9. Serve the BBQ chicken wings hot, garnished with fresh chopped parsley or green onions, if desired.

Notes

For extra crispy wings, you can air fry them at 375°F for 15-20 minutes instead of baking. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
