Ingredients
Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir well to mix.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and eggs until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the diced apples, chopped walnuts, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir gently to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For a healthier version, you can use applesauce in place of some of the butter and reduce the sugar content. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
