Ingredients

  • 4 6 oz salmon fillets, skin-on
  • 1/4 cup white miso paste
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced

Method

  1. Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together miso paste, heavy cream, mirin, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, and ginger until smooth.
  2. Step 2: Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with sesame oil, then coat evenly with the miso cream mixture.
  3. Step 3: Let salmon marinate at room temperature for 10 minutes while preheating air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  4. Step 4: Lightly grease air fryer basket with oil. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in a single layer, leaving space between them.
  5. Step 5: Air fry for 8-10 minutes, depending on thickness, until salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches 145°F internally.
  6. Step 6: Carefully remove salmon from air fryer. Spoon any remaining sauce from the basket over the fillets.
  7. Step 7: Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

For extra crispy skin, pat dry thoroughly before marinating. If sauce thickens too much, thin with 1-2 tbsp warm water. Serve with steamed rice and sautéed greens.
