Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie brings together gooey bittersweet chocolate, toasted Texas pecans, and buttery crust in a Southern dessert that’s rich, nostalgic, and wildly addictive.

Ingredients

Scale

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 ½ cups Texas pecan halves

3 large eggs

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Place pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and prick the bottom lightly with a fork.

3. Scatter chocolate chips evenly over the crust.

4. Arrange pecan halves in a single layer over the chocolate.

5. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.

6. Pour filling mixture over the pecans and chocolate.

7. Bake 50–60 minutes, or until filling is set and top is golden brown.

8. Cool at least 2 hours before slicing. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

For variation, try dark chocolate, maple syrup instead of corn syrup, or a gluten-free crust. Pairs great with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
