These prosciutto wrapped mozzarella bites are an easy no-cook appetizer made with creamy mozzarella, fresh basil, and salty prosciutto, finished with balsamic glaze for a simple yet elegant bite.

Ingredients

Scale

16 bite-sized fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)

8 thin slices prosciutto, cut in half lengthwise (16 strips total)

16 small fresh basil leaves

2 tablespoons thick balsamic glaze

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Pinch of flaky sea salt (optional)

1620 cocktail picks or toothpicks

Instructions

1. Pat the mozzarella balls dry thoroughly with paper towels so they’re not slick or watery.

2. Lay the prosciutto slices on a board and cut each one lengthwise into two long, narrow strips.

3. Place a basil leaf near one end of a prosciutto strip, then set a mozzarella ball on top of the basil.

4. Gently roll the prosciutto around the mozzarella and basil, creating a snug bundle without squeezing the cheese.

5. Secure each bundle with a cocktail pick or toothpick so everything stays in place.

6. Arrange the bites on a serving platter in neat rows or circles.

7. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and balsamic glaze, then finish with black pepper and optional flaky salt.

8. Chill for 10–15 minutes to set, or serve immediately at cool room temperature.

Notes

Use high-quality prosciutto for best flavor.

If making ahead, assemble and refrigerate without balsamic glaze, then drizzle just before serving.

These are best enjoyed the same day for optimal texture.
