Mini Grilled Cheese Hawaiian Rolls are bite‑size, buttery, cheesy sandwiches made with sweet Hawaiian rolls and melted sharp cheddar — perfect for game day, lunch boxes, or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

1 package King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12‑count)

12 slices sharp cheddar cheese

8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

2. Slice each Hawaiian roll horizontally into thirds using a serrated knife.

3. In a bowl, mix softened butter with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.

4. Spread a generous layer of the herb butter on both cut sides of each roll piece.

5. Cut cheddar slices into pieces that fit the roll pieces. Arrange buttered bottom halves on the pan, place cheese on each, then top with buttered roll tops.

6. Bake for 5–7 minutes until the bottoms begin to crisp and the cheese starts to melt.

7. Remove from oven, gently flip each sandwich, press lightly with a spatula, and bake another 5–7 minutes until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.

8. Let cool for about a minute, then serve warm. Enjoy!

Notes

You can assemble sandwiches ahead, wrap in foil, and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking.

To freeze: assemble, place on a tray to freeze firm, then store in freezer bags up to 2 weeks. Bake directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.

Try stuffing with gruyère, gouda, or provolone, or add cooked bacon or tomato slices for variation.
