Ingredients

Scale

1 loaf French bread, ciabatta, or homemade yeasted dough

6 cloves garlic, finely chopped or grated

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh basil or thyme, chopped

½ cup salted butter, softened

⅓ cup olive oil

1 teaspoon coarse sea salt

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup shredded cheddar or colby jack cheese

¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Optional: ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix butter, olive oil, garlic, herbs, sea salt, and optional garlic powder in a bowl.

3. Slice bread lengthwise or into rolls. Place cut-side up on the baking sheet.

4. Spread garlic-herb butter generously over bread halves.

5. Sprinkle mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan evenly over each half.

6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until cheese is bubbly and edges golden brown.

7. Let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm with optional extra butter.

Notes

Use fresh bread for the best texture and flavor.

Customize cheeses based on preference—fontina, gouda, or Monterey Jack work great.

Wrap and refrigerate leftovers; reheat in foil at 350°F for 8–10 minutes.
