Layers of tender potatoes baked in a rich, creamy cheese sauce—these cheesy scalloped potatoes are the ultimate comfort food side dish for any dinner table.
4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
3. Stir in heavy cream and milk, then whisk in cheddar cheese until smooth.
4. Layer half the potatoes in the dish and pour half the cheese sauce over them. Repeat with remaining potatoes and sauce.
5. Season with salt and pepper. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
6. Remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
