All your favorite California roll flavors—avocado, crab, cucumber, and sushi rice—beautifully layered in a bowl. Easy, fresh, and customizable.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup sushi rice

1 1/4 cups water

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup crab meat or imitation crab

1 avocado, sliced

1 cucumber, sliced

1 sheet of nori, sliced into strips

Soy sauce, to taste

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Pickled ginger and wasabi, optional

Instructions

1. Rinse sushi rice thoroughly until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

2. Cook the rice with water using a rice cooker or stovetop. Once done, transfer to a bowl.

3. Gently fold in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt into the rice while it’s still warm.

4. Let the rice cool. Meanwhile, prepare the toppings: slice avocado, cucumber, and nori; flake the crab meat.

5. Assemble bowls with sushi rice as the base, topped with avocado, cucumber, crab, and nori.

6. Drizzle with soy sauce, sprinkle sesame seeds, and add optional ginger or wasabi before serving.

Notes

Use cauliflower rice for a low-carb version. Store components separately to keep ingredients fresh. Add cream cheese or mango for flavor variations.
